Dear Patient and Friends,
How are you? I hope this letter finds you in the best of health and spirit. I am very grateful to
be able to serve you and your family and friends.

As many of you remember, each of the last 15+ years, you have helped us generously support the Plymouth Area Coalition for the Homeless. This year, especially in light of our nation’s needs, I feel we still need to focus on the needs of our own community.

Once again I am asking for your help. As in prior years, our office will serve as a drop off point
for food, clothing and monetary (check) donations. We will be hosting our Drive from Monday
October 30th through Thursday, December 16th at 6PM. We will deliver the entire cornucopia
as needed.

There are also those among our patient family who have lost much this year. Therefore, we are making a special effort to help those who may need but can not afford all or part of care, for whatever reason. I have instructed my staff during this same period to set aside special private times to address the needs of these patients, in exchange for a donation of their choosing. If you, or someone you know needs to be seen, please have them phone Melissa, in complete confidence at 781-659-7989.

Please also let me take this opportunity to thank you for all your support this year, and wish your entire family Peace and Health this Holiday Season, but most especially good health every day.

***Notice: The week of Oct 30th, there will be several schedule changes and
no chiropractic care will be available on Wednesday, but we will open
Saturday November 4th, 10-1 PM instead.***

Sincerely,

John P. Hayes Jr. DC, DABCO

To Make A Difference
A young man ran along a beach at dawn picking up stranded starfish and throwing them out to sea to keep them from dying in the morning sun. An older man was amazed by his efforts and asked why he spent so much energy doing what seemed a waste of time.

“There must be thousands of miles of beach,” he said, “and millions of starfish. How can your
efforts make any difference?” The young man looked down at the small starfish in his hand and as he threw it to safety far out in the sea replied, “It makes a difference to this one.”

History
The Coalition began in 1985 as a result of a group of concerned citizens responding to families
living in their cars or the state forest. The group raised support and opened the first shelter in a rented farmhouse in Halifax in May of 1987. A generous donation of land, building services and materials enabled the Coalition to custom build a facility in Kingston to accommodate ten families at a time for shelter. This facility also includes an office, child care room, food pantry, Santa’s Workshop and the F.A.I.R. Program.
